TikTok Shop Product Research Template
Record one product candidate from first signal to go, test or stop. The sheet keeps dated evidence, cost assumptions and the next decision in the same place instead of treating a trend as proof of demand.
Decision rule: Do not move to sourcing until at least two independent demand signals support the candidate, contribution is positive before ads and the product has a compliant, testable content angle.

How to use it
- 1
Create one row per candidate and record the market, date and source URL before interpreting the signal.
- 2
Separate attention from demand: use official discovery surfaces for hypotheses, then add buyer language, supply, policy and cost evidence.
- 3
Replace the illustrative row with your own landed-cost assumptions; if contribution is negative before fixed costs, stop even when the product is popular.
- 4
Set a small content or sample test, a review date and a decision rule. Archive rejected candidates so the team does not repeat the same research.
The quality check before you publish
A template is only useful when the fields lead to a decision. Delete any column you will not review, assign an owner and add a date for the next check. This keeps the document operational instead of turning it into a static worksheet.
